    June 21 - Kayla - John 14:15-21

    John 14:15-21

This verse talks about how much Jesus loves all of us, no matter what we do. He says he will never abandon us even those who don’t believe. He promises the Holy Spirit. It talks about how people don’t recognize the Holy Spirit. In Canada we are going to those who don’t see the light. What really applies to my life is “obey my commandments if you love me.” That made me realize I haven’t been honoring my parents like I should be, but I still love Jesus. And o be honest I have never thought about how disobeying the commandments hinders my relationship with Christ.

What sorts of things hinder your relationship with Jesus?

wow i think that this passage is really deep. its talking about how when we start to know God that we will get the spirit, and thats tight, have the holy spirit chillin with us. know if i could meet anyone in my life it would be him. i like how its saying he will always be there for us even when others cant see him. like in the hard times it will seem like hes not there, but just talk to him he is there. very deep passage i think

I think that my being headstrong hinders my relationship with Jesus. I have the want sometimes to take hold of the path of my life and not want to listen to what God has in store for me. Also, I'm quick to anger, and in that I dwell on that no one understands etc, but I have to realize God understands and more.

Things that hinder my relationship with Jesus:

I like to have a bit more control than I should

Sometimes the environment that I'm in (ex: School)

when I get out of the habit of reading my Bible

(i'm sure there is more but I can't think of them right now)

What hinders my relationship sith Jesus?

More like, what DOESN'T hinder my relationship with Jesus? It seems like I'm constatly being hindered, usually because of things that are my own fault, too. So many times it just feels like God is up there, holding his head in his hands, saying "What are you doing?!"
It really gives me a HUGE appreciation for his forgivness.

i totally agree with chelsea, it seems like god would be yelling at the top of his lungs,"luke, what in my creation are you doing?" but then i remember that he knows what i am going to do before i even do it. i think god does those things just to prove to us that he is always in control.

I guess the thing that still surprises me is that if we don't honor God...that's not really showing our love. Well I guess that doesn't surprise me, but it gets in my head- you know? And the whole loving you unconditionally- gets me EVERYtime. It feels like no one loves me unconditionally. So it means a lot when Jesus says he does and he will.

I think it's awesome that Jesus says that He will never leave anybody, He won't even leave the non-christians. I think that says so much about how much Jesus cares about us. I believe that we need to show people in Canada how much Jesus really cares about them, no matter how many bad things they have done in their life.

just being human hinders me from being close to god. it doesn't give me an excuse though.
