In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world... Jesus' prayer in John 17:18

    May 3 - Mandy ~ John 3:1-8

    John 3:1-8

In this passage a man comes up to Jesus and says he knows he is the son of God...Jesus replies to this saying that no man can come into the kingdom until he is born again. Back and forth with the man scoffing and saying how could it be? It makes sense that he would scoff at that because he is obviously thinking "born again" in the literal sense. It's awesome that Jesus told him this because how else would he know that he had to be born again, his spirit washed clean, etc. I like it.

hey there well i like how this guy is really slow because he asks how can we go back in our mothers womb so im at least smarter than one person in the bible at this time. But i think its great how it talked about the wind blowing where ever it wnated i think thats cool that the spirit is every where it wants to be i like that i feal as we should be like the wind and just go to where God wants us to go such as were doin in canada

This is ony of my favorite passages...but i don't think I've ever read it with the whole, "wind-hovering-over-the-water" talk...a good anaology of how we should be though, I suppose...like God's the wind, and we just go where he wants, being submissive... :)

Yeah I probably would have been like that guy. I think a lot of us would have, since being born again was not something they had ever heard about.

I like how Jesus compares the wind to us. He says, "Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going." I think that definately applies to us going to Vancoucer. The wind blows everyday, we can spread the word of God everyday too. You never know where we may be going, but we have one main mission, and that is to spread the gospel everywhere we go.

Jesus explains how in order to enter the kingdom of God we must be born again. Not in the sense that we crawl back into our mother's wombs, but rather we must receive a new life from the Holy Spirit. Jesus also explains, not in this passage, that if we want a home in heaven, we must take up our cross, leave everything behind, and follow Jesus. That is the only way we can enter heaven.

I like to sometimes ask myself what I would of done if I lived in Jesus' time. And honestly I probably would of had some late nights thinking about how to get back in to my mother's womb... It just kind of makes me laugh. But I really agree with what Kacee is saying about how Jesus will be helping us even though we won't be able to see or tough him. We will be able to feel him working through us to help make a difference.

i love that nicodemus is a pharisee. a highly religious leader. he knows that there's something special about this guy and he wants to know how to get what he has.

I totally agree with you Cassie. I really respect him for going to really find out what Jesus was really all about, instead of just calling him phsyco like everyone else.
