In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world... Jesus' prayer in John 17:18

    June 22 - Brianna - John 14:22-24

    John 14:22-24

In this passage, I think Jesus is saying that he is a messenger of God. Everything that Jesus taught, were things that God wanted all of us to know. When we go to Canada, God is using us as messengers to tell others how much He loves them.

Jesus also says that everybody that loves Jesus will be loved by God. It doesn’t matter what condition they are in or what they are. All they have to do is love God. A lot of people don’t think that’s enough though. They think that they have to be a good person who doesn’t sin to love God or to be loved by God. That just isn’t the case. God loves everyone, no matter what.

Why do you think that people think they have to be a certain way to love God or be loved by Him?

i think that u need to read it twice so u know about the last verse saying these arent his words these are Gods words. just saying that if u believe in me ill be there, and if u dont ur missin out. its pretty much u know im here so why arent u believeing. and to obey him, its not like we have to be sinnless we just have to try, and we know when we are sinning and we know what we do wrong so thats what we need to work on

I think that most people have been raised with a certain view of faith and how it works. I mean, how to pray, when to pray, what to pray for etc. It's hard to brek the mold you were born into because if you do something that is different than what your family does, they are less likely to understand why you have the need to find your own faith. They may think that you find something wrong with their faith.

I think that a lot of people aren't even thinking about the whole "love" concept. A lot of people just focus on "am I good enough?" or "well, I'm a better person than him, so...". On their way to becoming these "good" people they're trying to be, they forget about love altogether.

    Agree with chelsea.

I think people do focus on being good enough, and with that they are focused mainly on getting to Heaven and sometimes the only times they think about God are when they are thinking "God will let me into Heaven how could he not? I've been a good person"

I think that people don't love God because they think they have no proof of his existence. I don't think it's an issue of being good enough for God, I just think they don't believe, and choose not to love something they don't believe. They know they are sinning but it seems to me that they just don't care.

    luke,
ok, so when it says "if you love me you will obey my teachings." that makes me mad because when i do something wronge to go aganst his teachings it makes it look like i dont love him.but i do, i think thats what makes me so mad.

i think it is hard for some people to think that god will love everyone no matter what, and people think of how hard it is for some ppl to just love someone all the time even when they do something to make you mad at them. but ppl dont realize that god is nothing like us. he has more love for one person, then every love that is felt in the world.

i think people think that because people are like that. That if someone is "in love" with you you're expecting them to love you no matter what- but something happens and then the love is gone- but people aren't perfect- God is...

maybe because they feel so incredibly stupid for what they've done that you think that no one, NO ONE, especially as holy and good as jesus could love you after what you've done...and then if you keep on doing it you just feel so much like a idiot and a jerk that you just finally give up. *sorry, i was a little mad*
