John 15:1-8In this passage, Jesus says that he is the vine and God is the farmer. And if we don’t join Jesus, we cannot bear any fruit. We can’t know God unless we are joined by Jesus. And though Jesus we will harvest fruit in abundance. Everyone connected to him will be pruned back so that we can bear even more. So to get to God we must be a part of the Son. I think that’s what we are going to be teaching people in Vancouver.
In what ways do your bear fruit?

i think the main thing its saying here is if we reamin in him he will remain in us (hints its said like 6 times) but thats what all these last ones have been about. staying connected with Jesus and he will stay with us, stay in the word and the word will stay with us. Just that he is there for us if were there for him. i think that we just need to make sure were always in contact with him, and know hes there watching helpin waiting for us to talk to him. ready like a father, waiting for our tears.

I think the ways I bear fruit are that I listen to others, and I try my best to help them and empathize with them if the need comes.

I don't really know how I bear fruit...hmm...that's a hard question, for me at least. But I like the idea of being pruned. It kind of says to me that all of the problems and stuff we go through are so that we can learn from them and become better christians because of them...

Yeah I'm not sure either...
Giving advice to those who ask for it. Listening to people when no one else will.

When I first read through this passage, I thought wow this has a lot to do with us going to Canada. Jesus said "my true disciples produce much fruit" We are going to Canada doing just that, for we cannot produce fruit without being connected with the vine. Also in verse 4 he says: you can not be fruitfull apart from me" We can't live life without God and we are going to Vancouver to show others his love for them.

I think that the ways that I bear fruit is by serving in church and by being a good friend. I think that by showing compassion on others I am also bearing fruit.

Later on in this chapter it goes on to say that if you don't bear fruit that branch will be cut off. i wonder what "cut off" means.
