John 8:48-59

why do people think that Jesus is possessed?

so jesus talks about how he doesn't glorify himself and lift himself up but that God does. this reminds me of the pray in privacy not on the street corner. don't do things to be glorified but do it because its what God is calling you to do and be glorified by the one who counts the most.

in verse 51 jesus gives the promise of eternal life. no one who obeys me shall ever die. thats so awesome. and so hard to fathom. ETERNAL LIFE.....forever and ever and ever and ever and ever.....etc.

then jesus says that he was in existance even before abrahams birth. and the jewish leaders pick up rocks to stone him?!?!?! WHAT!?!?! ok there should ahve been a fight Jesus would totally win best fight at the vma's. j/k that totally go against everything if jesus taught them.....instead he just walked away untouched....OH what now?

I completely agree with Lacy about not doing things to glorify yourself, but to do things because that is what God calls you to do. I can't even imagine looking at those people and seeing that they believed you were demon-posessed and they were going to stone you. Jesus is amazing...that's all i gotta say.

i think that its wierd that ppl would believe that he was demon possed thats just crazy but i guess if someone like that was around now we would be saying the same things about them so i can see what there talking about but they go pretty far to almost killing him becasue of what he says i cant believe that they would wnat to kill anyone for just something there sayin harsh times in life sounds like

At first it amazes me that Jesus can so easily say that it's all God- and not him...but then i remember that He's perfect and God too... I know that that's the mindset that I want to be in before I die (i know, I long-term goal). To be so focused on the main idea that everything i do is because of God. To have that being repeated and repeated in my head day after day, to remember what the price was for me to Realize that. Christ makes EVERYTHING in my life possible.

I have the same problem that Heidi has. I am very easily angered, and it is EXTREMELY hard for me to just drop it and let it go. I really admire the fact that when they were calling Jesus a possessed demon, he stayed calm. Now about the glorifying God rather than yourself, I need to work on. I know that everything I do is God. The problem is I only recognize it every once and a while.

I competely understand where Heidi is coming from. I think that it happens to all of us. It is really amazing to think of the fact that people were calling Jesus demon-possessed and all he did was walk away. And it is really important for us to go to Vancouver simply to spead the Word of God and not just for ourselves.

some times i find it hard to not want credit for somethings.i think that is something i have to work on. i know that i do everything because god made it possible.about the whole demon posessed thing, it makes me wonder how people come up with these things. i talk to myself all the time, does that make me demon posessed, if so i hope no one is going to stone me tomorrow. with that said, every one can start praying for me now.

If all of us went around killing everyone that we thought was possesed by demons, immagine how much smaller our population would be. I just don't get how they could be so sure that Jesus was demon possesed. It just seems crazy.

The end was soo funny. Jesus was all like,"What you talkin' about? I'm not demon possessed I just follow my Father God the way you should." And at the end he was like booya and ran off before they could hurt him. hahaha!

I think it is really cool that Jesus was able to just walk away from the people that were calling him demon possessed. It's hard for anybody to walk away from anyone who is making fun of them. But Jesus was able to walk away without doing anything in anger.
