John 7:25-44This passage talks about the Messiah. As I was reading through, I started to think about all the miracles that Jesus has done. Why did they doubt he was the Messiah when they knew about his miracles. In verse 31 I was caught off gaurd when the crowd said "Would you expect the Messiah to do more miraculous signs than this man has done? " It seemed to me that they thought he should have done more miracles, as if he hadn't done enough already. I liked the section when Jesus promises living water. I made a comparison in my mind that water can fill your thirst, just like Jesus fills our every need. He called out for the people to come get water and I think he called each and everyone of us out to spread his word in Vancouver. In verse 38 Jesus says if you believe in me, come and drink. I took that as you believe in me and your prays will be answered, you will have the holy spirit and be saved.

so in the beginning when everyone in the crowd was talking and asking questions about Jesus and who he truly was- could they be described as "lukewarm Christians"? Or even christians at all? Because Like Kayla said- they knew the miracles he had performed! Uhm...not sure.

I think that Jesus is trying to tell everyone that they should listen to Him now, because His time is short. Especially when they went to seize Him but it was said that His time had not come yet. It really confused the Jews when He said that He was going somewhere they could not follow. In a way I understand. He was flesh and blood right in front of then and they couldn't comprehend that He wouldn't be there.

It seems so odd that some people didn't believe Jesus, especially when they saw the miracles with their own eyes.
I also agree with what Kayla said at the bottom about those who believe in Jesus.

After reading this verse, I kept going back to the part when Jesus says where I am going you can not find me and you can't go with me. That seems pretty plain and simple: If you don't believe in Jesus then you can't go to Heaven. I think that is a pretty important message to spead to the people in Vancouver. That if they do not accept Jesus in to their hearts then that can't be with Him in Heaven.

I think that it would be really weird to see all these guys running up to grab Jesus but they just weren't able to. I mean, I wonder what they were thinking when they weren't able to get at him. I also like how instead of just saying "bye and good luck to you all" he warned them that his time was short and that they'd look for him, but they wouldn't be able to find him because they couldn't go there.

I don't understand why they couldn't just understand that Jesus was the Messiah. They talked about the miracles that the Messiah will perform but they couldn't figure out that Jesus had already performed a lot of miracles. Were they expecting more?

one of the things i noticed was that the crowd was disscussing was if the authorities had really concluded if jesus was the christ. i was thinkin on that part for minute and it occured to me that the authorities were obviously the government and christ was "religion." it made me think about the government here in america. the whole church and state thing...the authorities(gove.) and christ ("religion"). i hope this is making sense.
