John 5:2-15Wow. All I can say about this passage is that Jesus... that guy never gives up. A man is sick for 38 years and all Jesus tells him is to pick up his bedroll and start walking. I know that if I was sick for 38 YEARS, I would definitely not plan on getting better anytime soon.
Probably the more important story here is that Jesus sees the cured man later. Jesus tells him that if he goes back to a life of sinning, then something worse will happen to him. I'm sure that if the people in Vancover heard this they would think of the "something bad" as they wouldn't have a meal the next day or they wouldn't have a place to sleep. But Jesus means that the "something bad" is the man not going to heaven. It is really a good lession for all of us to remember. That our actions not only hurt us today but will hurt us even more on our judgement day.

hey well i really like the passage becasue it shows that anyone, age, and however your situation is that u can change. Yes phisically but also spiritually that Jesus can do anything to u and help u out in a time of need. I think thats its cool were going to go and talk to the ppl who no one cares about, as Jesus did here i thinks its awsome that he did this for a man that pretty much had no faith left.

It's so amazing that Jesus could just heal people no matter what their condition. Especially after 38 years...no that is a reallllly long time in my book, though not old...heehee. Anyway I agree with Heidi and Aaron about the whole you can change in every way thing because it doesn't matter about your past it mostly matters about what you are going to do in the future. Mandy

I SO wish I could've lived back in Bible times. The story makes the fact that an angel came and made this pool of water able to heal all of these people seem like nothing out of the ordinary. I just love the thought of that, and that if anybody claimed that there was a pool able to heal people now, who would believe them? But the Bible said that there were mulitudes of people there. I just like the thought of people believing like that.

Wow, I love reading about all Jesus's miracles. He did so many amazing things back in the day. I agree with Aaron and Heidi. We are going up to people and spreading the light and hopefully change them spiritually. I know that we can't heal a sick man, but we can heal someones future, heaven. No body had faith in the sick man, and we are going to people that no one talks to or believe in, and changing their life. I think that is a miracle in itself.

i think about that all the time- that what I do TODAY will effect the rest of my eternal life. I wonder if people who aren't christians EVER think about that...probably not, huh? That the decisions and the choices they make will ever hurt them after they die.

I agree with Chelsey I wish that would be the story of today and I also liked the way T put it.

I think that the most important part of the story here is the part when Jesus found the man later and told him to stop living a life of sin or else something worse would happen to him. (If I had been the man that had been healed, I would never sin again for fear of being struck by lightning or something.)I love that after Jesus heals this man and leaves, He doesn't just say, "Okay, you're healed so have a nice life." Later on in the story Jesus comes and finds him and tells him to stop sinning. Not only is Jesus concerned about the man's health, but He is also concerned about the man's salvatioin. I think that speaks tons about how much Jesus loves us. He wasn't talkingto an entire crowd. He was talking to one man.

it just makes me feel so frustrated that even though jesus just told this man who was crippled for what would seem a life time of 38 years that people still wouldn't believe that he was the messiah.and this passage just makes me want to tell people even more about God.anything about him.
