John 8:12-19Jesus is once again faced with the ever present Pharisees. They question him, no surprise, and they end up talking about what Jesus believes in. This means a lot to me, because the Pharisee in me, judges people by what's on the outside, and I've been working hard on not doing that- to wait to judge people, to get to know them...
And at the end when Jesus says, "you know my Father as little as you know Me. If you knew Me, you would know my Father also." reminds me of something we may encounter in Vancouver or in our daily lives- that people can tell if Jesus is living in us just as the Pharisees should've seen that Jesus and God were the same.

The Pharisees frustrate me. They always think that their ways are the ONLY way, the RIGHT way. But they try to shoot down others, Jesus for example, when they choose a way that does not follow their own. It's awesome that Jesus stands up and says that no one will be in the darkness if they follow Him. The Pharisees just can't comprehend that.

I have to admit that I judge people too. We are supposed to set an example, and by judging people, I am not doing a very good job of that. We want to be like Jesus, so we shouldn't judge others like Jesus never did. I know it is really hard, but I think that going to Vancouver will help with that. Also going to Vancouver is spreading the light that Jesus has given us, and take people out of the darkness.

Yeah the whole don't judge a book by its cover will probably be something to work on, especially in Vancouver. (Quick story to add emphasis to this)
When my cousin went (I'm not sure if it was through youthworks(?)
He and the rest of the ones who went, went on a rose walk, I believe they called it. Anyway they had roses and walked around giving them to prostitutes basically saying, we care about you.

I really like the "Light" part. We will kind of be the light for the people in Vancouver. We will show them Jesus and how to follow him.

I totally agree with the "don't judge a book by it's cover" saying, and I don't think it would hurt me to follow it a little better. I try really hard not to judge others, but I think it's something most of us just do automatically.

These verses are so incredibly important to me. you have no idea. It is really important to me not to judge others by the way they look or present themselves because you have no idea what's going on inside of them. For all you know, they could end up being the greatest evangeslist that the world has ever seen. And for all you know, your judgement could be pushing them into suicide. Sometimes, judgement can take a life. It happened to Jesus. It can happen to anyone.
