John 8:1-11I think my favorite part about these verses is that jesus does not condemn the woman who was caught in the act of adultry. He simlply says, "Go and sin no more." He never punishes her for the sins she has done. He just tells her to stop sinning. I don't know about you guys but when I do something wrong, a lecture, punishment, or a grounding usually follows. This passage really tells me that God is much more concerned with the person than the sin the person has committed.

Yeah I love it that God is always ready to forgive us, although He does have a way of teaching us not to sin by letting us deal with sin's consequences.

I totally agree with you Bri~ I'm EXTREMELY glad cares more about the person than the sin, otherwise we'd be in big trouble. Jesus is a cool person, that's all i gotta say...

You are all soo right. Where would we all be if God looked at the sin rather than the person. I'd be in hell, i can tell you that much. I feel like i should really say more about the verse because it is really soo important but right now i think that i am simply in aww of what Jesus is saying...

I love this story for the one reason everyone is talking about! Jesus loves the person, but not the sin- which is how we're supposed to be...correct? Like how we were talking about homosexuals. It's a little hard to put this into practice. I guess it was easy for Jesus because he truely saw the person- the soul, but us, we hear about them, and get the wrong idea- and then we may loose the real person, and just get caught up in their sin.

its so hard to think that our sins are as fare from the east is to the west, when we ask for forgiveness.if i were that woman i would have been kissing his feet and thinking him for my life. i am glad to know that my lord is so forgiving.i think we all need to be more like jesus in this way, look at the person ,not what they did or do and love everyone.

What I love is that Jesus could've been throwing rocks in a second, but he didn't. Just one of the TONS of times when he showed, without rubbing it in our faces, how incredible he is. I also agree with all of you about how it's so cool how he focuses on us, and not what we've done wrong. Boy, if he paid attention to our sins... we'd all need some heavy duty sunscreen where we'd be living!

Tim,
I like how Jesus told all those people off.

I agree with Theresa on this one. I know how we as humans judge others that are homosexuals, or that do drugs or whatever, and Jesus would just shake it off, and continue loving them. I think that is just amazing. I struggle with judgeing others, and I hope to be able to look at the person as "normal" and get to know them for who they are and not judge them by their sin.
