    June 14 - Kacee - John 12:26-36

    John 12:26-36

In this passage the Lord is saying: if any of you want to serve me, then follow me. Then we will be where he is ready to serve in a moment’s notice. He is saying that he has been storm-tossed but is he going to ask the Father to come home? No! This is why He came in the first place. This is where Jesus said that Satan will be tossed out of this world. And Jesus will be lifted up from this earth. Jesus said that the light is still among you. Walk by the light so that the darkness doesn’t destroy you. You will live your lives as children of the light.

I think this relates to us because we are “walking in the light.” We are following God and are ready to serve and that is what we are doing while we’re in Canada. We will be serving the Lord in his name.

What do you think that “you’ll be children of the light” means?

I think being a child of light means that you have a personal light shining through you.God's light. You have the coice to use this light, or to squelch it. What should be our choice?

It is extremely hard for me to think of praising God and to think that when I'm in agony, it's for a good reason- It's easier to think that when i'm talking to someone else about their agony- but not my own. I think being a child in the light, is to be truely and completely filled with Jesus- inside and out.

I think being a child of light means being an example for God and leading others to him. That's kinda what we're going to be doing in Canada...isn't it?

I think that it means that if we are followers of the God, and in doing so we are Children of the light, we then shine this light onto the world through what we do.

    12:36
As you have the light, believe in the light. Then the light will be within you, and shining through your lives. You'll be children of light."

this is a great verse to finish off this story. this is exactally what were are here for and what the story is talking about. even at the begging tellin us to be ready at any moments notice to go to work for him.

I think that my favorite part of this verse is when Jesus says that those who want to be his disciples will follow him because his servants must be where he is. i think that really teaches me about commitment. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, we are making a commitment. We can't back down from that. We are his servants and we have to follow him if we want to make it to heaven.

I think being children of the light means being followers of Jesus, and spreading the light to others in the dark. Jesus says believe in the light while there is still time. I think this means that we are supposed to believe in Christ, and our time on earth should be spent helping others see that Jesus is the light of the world.

it says in the passage that we shine from the inside out, so to me being a child of light is totally following god in every way.some ppl in some ways just act like they are following god but under the covers they live a different life.i sometimes even do that and i am not trying to say i am perfect, cuz im not.so we all need to live our lives completely for god.like t said "inside and out".

to me that phrase means, not only will we be children of God (who is the light) the light should be so bright within us that it shines through and reaches out to others.
