    June 9 - Chelsea - John 12:1-11

John 12:1-11 - from Crosswalk.com because biblegateway doesn't seem to be working today...

I think it’s so awesome that Mary was saving the perfume just for Jesus. When I read these verses, so many thoughts always go through my head, like how did Lazarus feel after being raised from the dead? Or, why did Jesus put up with Judas?...things like that.

And then, back to Mary, I love how she used the perfume on his feet. Not only that but she wiped it with her hair. Wow. How many of us can say that we’ve done something so servant-like as wiping somebody’s feet with our hair and pouring expensive perfume on them?

I agree with Chelsea that it's amazing that she wiped HIs feet with her hair. I don't know of anyone now who would be willing to get down and wipe someones feet with their hair.

Wow- i had no idea the high priests wanted to kill Lazerus too. They're just killing machines aren't they?

So most of you know my stand on feet- but I dunno- putting oils on anyone's feet isn't only a job for a servant- but to me, it's an intimate job. I mean yea, back then servants washed your feet- but now, who touches your feet? Not strangers, but people who are close to you, people you trust and people who care. Mary loved, trusted and cared for Jesus, and showed this through the oil...

Mary is one awesome example of a servant. i mean who in the world(obviously mary) would get down on their hands and knees and do that. it makes me get all warm and fuzzy inside to see that kind of passion.

what i like the most is lazarus chillin with Jesus after he has been brought back to life. i mean what happend why he was dead did he fallow the light or what does it say anything about that anywhere in the Bible. but i like how he pretty much is just going on with his normall life just eatin food, lettin ppl look at him. wouldnt that be crazy to see someone u knew been dead for a few days to be healthy again and talkin to you i can see why ppl would turn their faith to Jesus after they witness that, i know i would surely

When I was reading all your comments about the hair and feet, I immediately thought of Lacy because she hates feet, and loves hair. If I were in Mary's position, I don't think I ever would have thought of rubbing his feet with my hair, but you never know.

    Tim,
I had something to write about but Lacy answered it for me so now I got nothin'. ...sorry

    Tim again,
Lacy won't let me finish with that so... Yay, good for Mary for washing his feet with her hair! and what not

I think it is really cool that the woman would do something so servantlike. I can't imagine using my hair to wipe really expensive perfume on someone's hair. She didn't have to do that. She didn't show her love through the regular 10%of your money to the church; she showed it through service.

This verse is soo cool. That really seems to make us all wonder what Lazarus thought of this whole bringing back to life thing... As for Mary, I liked how she not only wiped Jesus' feet with expensive purfume, that was just for Jesus. She could of spent that money for clothing, or food, but she bought it especially for Jesus.
